I am absolutely livid about the removal of the Amazon Affiliates Program in Illinois because of a new law signed by Governor Pat Quinn. This law requires Amazon and other online retailers to charge sales tax in the state whether or not they have a brick-or-mortar establishment. As a business owner and fairly new associate who is still working earnestly to understand affiliate marketing and grow my business through different channels, this is a great big blow. And, Gov. Quinn recently increased personal and business taxes.
Clearly, Illinois is not the best state to conduct business these days, and I can’t see it getting any better. Are you an Illinois business with plans to relocate? Where are you going?
